A film unfinished

High Holiday season.  Went with my artist friend Matt Freedman to see “A film unfinished.”  It’s a documentary about the reality of what took place in the Warsaw Ghetto, pealing away the staged propaganda film that the Nazis had made with footage that the director, Yael Hersonski, discovered in hidden bunkers.  So powerful, so connected to all I’ve been absorbing and raises all the questions that our consideration of the internment and extermination of masses of innocents should raise as our culture morphs into something that has so little collective memory and compassion.  We walked for miles after to stay in the spell of and mull over what we’d witnessed.
