Record all seven Piano Sonatas of Viktor Ullmann? What a rich idea. Am thankful to my composer friend Daniel Rothman for thinking of me for it. Normally would take me 5 years from start to finish with my teaching and performing load, but am eligible for a sabbatical next year and what a perfect way this would be to spend it! Getting to be a pianist full-time feels luxurious enough all by itself, but to live with this music will add many many more layers of gratification. So the application has gone in and though I’ll proceed with the project in any case, am awaiting word as to whether I’ll have uninterrupted time to do it in….
