It Takes One to Tango!

A Steinway & Sons album release and concert performances

This collection features tango-inspired gems that are largely unknown and mostly world-premieres. The works are by ‘recovered voices’ (those persecuted and killed by the Nazi regime) and living composers, two arenas that have long captured my fancy, centered around a dance I’ve come to embrace. Yes, its title riffs on the phrase ‘it takes two to tango’. Intended as a solo album of tango-inspired pieces, it has taken on special significance during Covid.

Full information about album and artist may be found here. It includes listening clips, podcast interview and e-store links. And now, It Takes One to Tango is also making its way into the concert hall, too! In November, will be at Sarah Lawrence College and the Music on the Edge Series in Pittsburgh with live-streaming here

Jeanne’s other ‘recovered voices’ albums, The Complete Piano Sonatas of Viktor Ullmann and WEINBERG, are under the Steinway & Sons Label. The Ullmann is reviewed by Gramophone!  Click here for sample tracks.  WEINBERG, a collaboration with the Attacca Quartet, is deemed by LucidCulture to be “shattering”.  Watch the ensemble here!
